The department’s Water Group is currently assessing all applications received. Successful applicants will be notified by a member of our team in the coming weeks.

About the reference group

The purpose of the reference group is to provide insights from a local community and industry perspective to help inform key aspects of the program. The group aims to collaborate with the program to enhance the future health of the Tumut River, including its tributaries and wetlands, from the Blowering Dam Wall to where it meets with the Murrumbidgee River.

Reference group members will:

  • be updated and consulted on major program developments
  • provide feedback and local knowledge and insights to help shape the program as it progresses
  • provide further context and insights on any matters raised by the community or industry concerning the program.

Reference group members will meet with the program twice in 2024. It is expected meetings will also be held twice a year into the future. Out-of-session meetings should be minimal.

Membership is entirely voluntary, and members may terminate their participation at any time by providing written notification.

Purpose and role

The reference group aims to represent a wide range of community and industry members in a transparent, equitable, fair, and consistent manner to inform program development.

The role of reference group members is to:

  • be informed and consulted throughout major stages, developments and progress during the program’s lifecycle
  • provide feedback, local knowledge and insights on key elements of the program
  • help provide further insights into matters raised by the community or industry
